A lot of people will not be very happy tomorrow..

and that is simply because the Indians just lost to the Red Sox and are now out of contention to go to the World Series. I think I just heard my entire apartment complex groaning as the Sox pretty much owned The Tribe.

Alright, since that is out of the way...I mentioned that I wanted to show you guys some photos of my apartment and all of that stuff. I live in a three bedroom and I have my own bathroom with a double-sink vanity which is all attached to my bedroom..It is pretty nice. The living room and kitchen is also pretty good but I rarely go in there. My roommates bought a pretty big flat screen TV and they just pretty much monopolize that area, which is completely okay because I am honestly never home. I work M-W-F and have class T-R so when I am home, I am studying or laying around in bed and just trying to have some time to myself.

Here are some photos of my room and bathroom..My room looks a little bit different now because I have four of my framed photographs hanging on each wall above my bed. They look awesome but I just haven't had the time to snap a new picture yet, so these will suffice. Oh, and that is Jesse, My half-sister on my bed. She came down from Toledo to help me move in (she was a HUGE help!)

That's my totally sweet Polka Dot Shower Curtain. It's pretty much amazing.

Do I need two sinks? No..but hey, whatever works.

This was taken last year when I signed my lease..but its the outside of the building.

This isn't our kitchen, but ours looks exactly the same (minus decorations and such)

On the school front..class has been going really well actually. I had one midterm this past week and a paper and I also have another midterm tomorrow and one later this week too. My Lit midterm was Thursday and I seriously thought I was going to be lucky to get a 75. It just seemed impossible. My teacher put the 'format' of how it was going to be online and everyone in the class was just freaking out. All short answer, and lots of it. And the material in this class is close to unbearable and boring and I guess that's why we were freaking out so bad. It is so hard to understand the middle/old English that many of the stories are written in and then he wants you to tear them apart and get all of this meaning out of the text and it just seems so insane at times. Anyway, come test day I was just feeling down because I didn't feel prepared and I also had a paper due that day so I felt like I spent more time on that than I did studying. Well, I get to class pretty early and a few other people show up. We start to just talk about it all and it kind of becomes a study session because we are asking each other questions from the study guide. As we all are talking, I really start to feel better. I knew a lot more than I thought I did. When the test was passed out, I honestly felt awesome. My only fault was the last few questions and that was because they were excerpts straight from the stories we have read and we had to identify which one and its relevance, etc..so I am thinking I got at least a 85. I hope. I'll let you all know.

I have a Human Nutrition midterm tomorrow after work, and then a communication one later this week. Luckily we have no final for Comm. but instead we have a speech and a paper. I am not crazy about the speech, I hate public speaking..but I have to do it and even have to take a class on it sometime so oh well.

Hmm.. Oh! This was homecoming week at Ohio State and so we had lots of activities going on..including the football game against Michigan State. This was our first real 'test' to be honest. Up until this game, we hadn't played anyone who was a real threat. We did win, but we had a scare. We were up 24-0 in the 4th and Michigan State managed to get two touchdowns in a row right off two of our turnovers. We were all pretty nervous for a little bit but we pulled it out. Next week is Penn State and I am definitely nervous about going into Happy Valley. They are a tough team to play and a VERY tough team to beat at home.

I also got to a hockey game this weekend, Ohio State's season opener vs. Miami. They are ranked #2 in the nation while we were at #12, it is one of the biggest games of the season. We ended up losing 5-1 but it was just nice being back in the ice rink. I did sit with the Ice Box with is a subsidiary of Block O, but for hockey. I honestly did not have that great of a time simply because I sat with them. They do chants which I think are kind of irritating and lame, and I miss chants from Pilot's games, or ECHL games. They also whined a lot about when certain songs weren't played in the right order over the intercom, etc. I finally just said, 'its a hockey game. Just go with it. You guys are going to make me hate college hockey'. They kind of looked at me..but I was serious. Just watch the game..they focused more on their 'rules' than they did the game itself.

and finalllyyy (sorry this is such an extremely long post), I went to a concert on Thursday..it was Fall Out Boy, Plain White T's, Gym Class Heroes, and Cute is what we aim for. My sister got tickets so we went..overall it was a good show..extremely long. Fall Out Boy played the longest set they have ever played. I was kind of ready to go by the end..everyone sounded good though. My favorite was Gym Class Heroes by far, though..they got everyone on their feet and got a lot of energy out of the crowd.

Till next time,
Case

Post-Game Recap: Purdue Trip

Last Saturday, I was fortunate enough to get a chance to go to Purdue for the Ohio State vs. Purdue game. It was through Block O and about 47 of us boarded a charter bus to make the four hour trip to West Lafayette, Indiana.

We left the stadium parking lot around 2 o clock, which is odd because all Ohio State home games start at 3 p.m. usually..where as most away games are at night, like this one. The trip their was easy enough..we did hit some traffic because of an accident right outside of West Lafayette but otherwise, it was smooth. Once we pulled onto campus..I was AMAZED. I would have thought I was at home on campus had I not known better. I saw Scarlet everywhere I looked. The bus parked around a bunch (probably ten) other huge charter buses and people were tailgating, cooking out, playing cornhole..etc. We had a quick bite to eat (Jersey Mike's provided subs to everyone) and then started our trek to the stadium. Now I must say, I think the trek was the best part of the trip. Why you ask? All 47 of marched to the stadium in SONG. We sang many Ohio State songs as loud as possible and it was amazing. Buckeye fans were cheering and clapping and sometimes singing along and Purdue fans just looked in wonder..they didn't quite know what to say.

It was sweltering hot and humid during the game. We were sweating our butts off and their stadium CRAMS the students in..it seemed like we could barely breathe.

The whole game was good but it seemed incredibly long..we won 23-7..they scored with about ten seconds left in the game. Overall, the crowd was great because i'd say it was 55-60 percent Ohio State fans..crazyness.

Here are some photos from the game:

This photo was after the game..it was right outside of the stadium.
O-H-I-O! That is Matt (Super Buck), Kyle (Tressel jr.), Ashley (The Great!) and Me! The lovely Sarah and I

Alright, lots of pics! As you can see, I def. had a blast..I had a chance to pick up OSU vs. Penn State tickets for the 27th at Penn State but I didn't need to spend the money and I am hoping to go to MICHIGAN so..I need to save up!

I want to show you guys my apartment and maybe some photos of campus/where I work in the next post..so be excited!

I'm Back.

It's been about a year since i've posted in this thing..I started it as a way to keep in touch with family and then realized that posting as openly as I was/am maybe wasn't the best idea. But, I am pretty sure now that no one in that group reads this anymore.

School is amazing. Honestly, I LOVE it here. It makes me wish I had transferred in a quarter rather than spending the entire year in Mansfield. I am pretty busy, but thats good though. Class is T-R with work M-W-F.

I am still not officially in the communication major and that worries me, but, I will be a junior at the end of this quarter and my current expected grad date is 2009 rather than 2010, which I think is pretty fantastic and exciting..but makes me nervous too.

Grad school? I've thought about it but I have a little bit of time..it seems imminent though.

Other news..hmm. I am incredibly involved in Block O. check it out at blocko.org. It is pretty much amazing. I did go to one sorority event because they are currently doing COB, but tonight is the final and last event for the sorority I like and I am pretty sure I will not get a bid because I have only been to one thing prior. This leaves me with the option of going to formal recruitment in the fall, or informal again in the spring. I don't know if its what I want to do..and at this time, maybe its good that I didn't honestly try to get a bid because I don't have the time or the money right now..period.
